I know some of you rather dislike the design and concept of the car, but as mentioned before, I pretty much love it since I saw the first concept of it.

I thought this looked so sick, i couldnt drive it for 3 weeks and when i finally came back to it this is what happened. once i unlocked the doors the air filled back up and it was fine (sorry for the bad pic quality, i need a good camera)

I really like Maybach, but Mercedes-Benz needs to update the vehicles, especially when the S Class continues to evolve.

There was an article on here a couple of weeks ago and I agree with you on the upgrading part:

The fate of Maybach will be sealed by the end of the year if we are to believe Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche. In an interview given at the 2011 Detroit Motor show, Zetsche admitted that sales of the 62 and 57 models are of little significance to the companies accounts. Zetsche has been quoted as saying;

Hopefully they'll find an external investor who buys the rights to develop new models and distribute the older ones as well. Even though I'm pretty much the only one I know (at least over) who loves the brand, most of the guys I know pretty much hate it. And to be honest, I absolutely do understand a lot of the points they mention. I personally fell in love with a first concept I've seen in a book store years before they even introduced the first model, so I guess I'm a little biased when it comes to the brand.

But all in all, there were so many mistakes made. As some already said, they hardly didn't change anything as far as the models go. The last Facelift introduced pretty much looks like the first one they introduced back then. The current S-Class pretty much shits on every Maybach as far as the overall systems and innovations are concerned. Still, a lot hated the two color tone and they didn't do anything about that. They knew they had to change something and they simply didn't. When they introduced the student concept of the Coupe Maybach version, they received more requests for it than for their actual models altogether. Well, finally they handed the production of a two door version over to another company and all 500 models produced were sold out immediately as I remember correctly. I don't know what went wrong, but they should've simply take a look at what Bentley and Rolls Royce were/are doing..

It's a shame the folks over at Daimler pretty much gave a shit about the brand and didn't really come up with anything innovative. As I already mentioned before, I really hope they finally just end the production and hand the rights over to a company who knows how to properly market and improve the brand in general.
