You can get a high mileage 996 TT for half the price of a BS and it maybe faster but mid 70's for a BS is a ridiculous bang for the buck. No way is a Vantage any comparison. Not much out there that would give you as much driving enjoyment.
I know of a silver Renntech stage 2 car that maybe for sale shortly.

SS, lemme know on the Renntech BS. My E55 is full Renntech, can't get enough of it. Thank you for keeping me updated!
I wanted a 996tt about a year ago but my interest in that car has changed...if I'm doing a Porsche it would have to be 997tt and those are still up there in price, and anything at even a decent price has miles on it. The Black Series' that are out there all have pretty low miles.

I have a BS that I have been using as my DD for the past 2.5 years and now have 24k miles on it. Contrary to what one of the other posters has said I find it a lot more comfortable for daily use than a GT3 or even the 550 Maranello I owned before it. Its been a great car, problem free, fun to drive and I highly recommend it.

V8. Sound. Looks. Lively tail. Huge fun. Nuff said.

The car just does everything right. Good looks without being too flashy. In fact, most have no idea what it is. Great sound. Great brakes from the factory. Adjustable suspension. Great motor. Impeccable track manners.
And at the end of the day it is still comfortable enough to take the wife out to dinner and listen to classical music. After all, it is a Mercedes. It was my wife's favorite car.
Down side is weight and no blip throttle on downshift. The no blip was my biggest problem with it.Chris

I did forget to mention that the tranny in the car is the major weak link. The downshifts are so sluggish. I wish they would have put the SL63 tranny in the car. That would make it near perfect!

This is the second time in two posts I've heard about the tranny. One, being no blip on downshifts and then this post with the downshifts being slow.
I don't think by any means this would be a deal breaker, just wondering if you could give me a bit of insight. Thanks!

Car is amazing, stupid fast in a straight line....
major fun...
gearbox FTL sometimes in manual mode it misses shifts if RPM is too high
downshifting is weakness . . .
tough to judge/compare especially when my scuderia gearbox superfast2 is light years ahead in terms of shifting---
but for a daily driver it's gotta be best banger for the paper!
