That's a hard choice. I'm partial to the SL, because from experience they attract a lot of attention. The 280 does have the rear seat, so if you plan on a lot of passengers, maybe that is the way to go. If it's just you and your favorite co-pilot, get the SL

thanks everyone for the great input, im having a touch decision on this to. Because i love the idea of just having a two seater, but i know im usually the driver whenall my friends go out so the back seat is a must.
So im torn, maybe i should just pull the trigger and get one of each

both GREAT cars......the SL would be a blast to roll around..good power ect...but the 280 i think looks better and is older and has 4 seats.....
plus i think the older 280 will hold its value better/gain value better..."Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't."

Might be of interest to you.. We have a 77 450SL that we're trying to sell. It's in pretty good shape but need a few small things. We just don't drive it anymore.
If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send some pics. Only 2 seats though.
All the old Mercs are fun so any choice and you really can't go wrong.
