Mercedes Benz SLK 55 Startup
This car was spotted in valet where I was attending a birthday party so when it came time for everyone to leave, I watched till it left. The owner was very nice and didn't mind me filming. Enjoy!

I love the growl of the german V-8 and the crackle
of the exhaust burning at the tips.

I worked valet for 5 years as a side job, drove over 10,000 cars, and the 55 motors had one of the top 3 exhaust notes I've ever heard. its truly remarkable that a luxury car like that can growl like a monster.

SLK55 FTW! I had a 07 and it was a go-kart, so much fun in it.

Nice sound.
But, was I imagining things, or did he have a 6.3 badge on it (39 second mark)?
I don't get it. The SLK55 is nice car, there's no reason to rebadge it. Plus, you have SLK55 on the trunk and 6.3 on the fenders?
I guess it would impress some people, but the people that a rebadged car would impress would just be just as impressed by base SLK300.
The people you really want to impress would know something fishy is up.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that it wasn't an SLK55. I didn't put SLK55 AMG, since the AMG is sort of redundant. All AMG models since the mid-90s (aside from the CLK-GTR and CLK DTM) use 2 digits to signify the engine size as opposed to the 3 digit numeric on regular (non-AMG) models.
I was just trying to say I don't understand the need to add 6.3 badges on what's already a nice (5.5 liter) car.Last edited by aspaceheater; 06-16-2010 at 03:11 AM.
