Cool 2012 S350 Bluetec. Anybody familiar? Need some ideas.

    Hey guys,

Longtime lurker and occasional poster here on L4P. Well looks like I need some advice from my fellow L4Pers. My brother just got a new 2012 s350 bluetec. It is a single-turbo v6, diesel, and also is Palladium Silver. Well, he got into a sort of fender bender on the real when some old lady hit him in a starbucks parking lot, and instead of just getting the bumper repainted, he wants to, as you say "turn lemons into lemonade", and has put me in charge of getting some stuff done to the car. So, the most important thing is the budget of course, and I frankly believe a good $10,000-$15,000 should be enough to get something nice done. Here is what I had planned. Of course, wherever we could save money on it is always a help.

    Exterior:
    - Matte gray/ Matte white wrap
    - W221 AMG body kit (like the ones on the 2012 s63, minus the AMG badges of course...)
    - Black out the chrome on the grill, badges (or even debadge it).

    Rims:
    - I was thinking of going with the optional 20-inch AMG twin 5-spoke forges alloy wheels in black ... other than that... need some major help as to what will fit and what you guys think will look nice on it.
It is a daily driver so we need it to retain its quality ride... if possible that is. HOWEVER, I had a satin black or dark gunmetal color planned for the rims for a deep contrast.
I will consider 22s, but of course, can't have the ride f*** up.

    Engine:
-Also, forgive me if it this is a stupid question, but my curiosity gets the best of me at times. Is there anyway to "add another turbo" to the already single-turbo engine? What, if any, power upgrades are available for the diesel/bluetec models? Any exhausts or tunes that can be done or any that you guys have seen?

Any pictures, suggestions, links to rims, prices, opinions, etc. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I have come to here because I am confident I will find some reassurance to my plans, as well as some new ideas if any.

    Thanks guys.

Additional turbo is not a cost effective option. Ck out Brabus for a power boost.

10,000-15,000 is not enough to do the stuff on your wishlist.. i think the bodykit alone might cost that much

Ok, well good news is that we have a guy near by who can do the body kit and wrap for us for a really good price. My brother cut a deal with him and it looks like it will cover some of the budget. Despite pricing, what do you guys think of my plans for the benz? Has there been any s350s that have been customized like this which you guys could post pics of? Also, I like the brabus tune, any other links for rims or stuff? Maybe some of the vendors could pitch in?

I also will be putting in some of my own money. That was his part of the budget.

Remember, you get what you pay for. I really hope you don't have a horror story later.

i know it's your car to do what you want with it. but don't put an AMG kit on it, if it was a S550, i'd almost be ok with it, but it's a 350 diesel bluetec, so like you don't want to put AMG badges on it because it's not an AMG, don't put the kit on either, to me, it's posing.

Wheels, i'd go with the 5 spoke AMG wheels, they look nice, and at 20" they'll look good and still have a comfortable ride.

Engine mods. leave that shit alone. you bought a diesel so it wouldn't use a lot of gas and that it would be a comfortable ride. if you want performance, sell it and get a slightly used S550 and mod that.

My idea would be 21's for it, wouldn't hurt the ride as much as 22's and would look much better than 20's all around. A good compromise no doubt! Something like this, same finish!

Wrong platform. Sell it and start with suitable platform. Unless you like spending more for less.
