Thanks for making this thread, I just started looking at E55's and they seem to be incredible cars. Thinking about replacing the 335i with one. Will be staying updated on this thread.

yes, it is interchangeable. i did it on my e55.

I recommend you to get a warranty depending on the mileage of the car. I did use chrysler extended warranty, $100 deductible. I replaced my air shocks at 70k miles.

An L4P member has an '05 w/ under 40K miles, with some power mods, and a sweet matte pearl paint by Platinum... probably a bit more than what you'd want to spend, but it's SUPER clean. PM me if interested.

and like Icecream, I had the Chrysler warranty. Although word on the street is that they no longer offer it for Mercedes. I'm trying to get one for my S-Class.

Thanks for all the responses. I am still looking into the 2005 that I found locally. I had pricing done on the vehicle and it looks pretty good in my opinion. My only worry is the higher mileage, but these cars seem pretty strong. This one has a lot of cool options, including the pano roof, which I like a lot. Hoping this one doesn't sell before I make up my mind, lol!

"The Godfather", I am sending you a PM regarding the white E55. Thank you for letting me know about it.

Truthfully, I'd hardly call an 05 with 46K high milage. Just scrub the maintenance history to be sure.

I understand what you are saying. I guess I'm so used to getting rid of cars once they reach the 50K mark that anything near that number is considered high to me. If you break it down year by year, the car was only driven 6,500-7,000 miles per year, which is very low.

Growing up in South Florida we really didn't put too many miles on our vehicles. It wasn't until I moved to Southern California did I truly learn what high mileage was all about…I just couldn't fathom how guys could put 100K in less than 24 months.

I have the car on hold and will be picking it up early this week (as long as they don't sell it from under me). Will post pics upon delivery!
