Dyno'd the QP
Last weekend there was a dyno day at the place next to my friends body shop. Since, I had the rati with me that day I thought I would see what she could do. We did 2 pulls both in 4th gear, and both times it acted funny. Look at the crazy wavy graph, we could not get it to have a clean powerband line. Does anyone know how to properly dyno it?

change your spark plugs!
what gear was the car run in?
edit...
also ask the dyno place to redo the graph so so the HP side and TQ side both read equivalently. right now one side says 400 max and 200max.
OR have them email you the dynojet .DRF file and email it to me and I will help re-make the graph for you.Last edited by AMS MIKE; 11-25-2011 at 07:45 PM.

The car was ran in 4th gear. The man running the dynojet said that 4th was the pull gear, but I always thought it was 3rd :dunno: I didnt realize that the graph only had a limit placed on it. I know another person on the maseratilife forums ran his QP stock and it put down 412 horse, I was just scratching my head that my QP only put down 345 with full exhaust, xpipe, rear links, filter, dbw, plugs, etc..
Let me contact the shop to see if they saved the .drf file.
Here is what that dude of ML got on his QP

nothing about your graph looks right and to be honest, any dyno shop that gives a graph scaled so out of proportion doesnt know what they are doing. EVERY car the torque and rpm cross at 5250. yours does not. That points to dyno operator error by improperly running the car.
your graph looks like the car shifted at 4700 rpm.
I need the .DRF file to see what went on. try and get that emailed to you.
If everything was done correctly which i highly doubt. that type of wavy graph points to spark plugs but since the graph doesn't even cross at 5250 i question everything at this point.

the dyno dynamics graph you posted from another car looks correct and that's how the graph should look on your car

I have no idea what the operator did to get such a weird looking graph ?!
should'nt the run be made in the gear which is 1:1 ratio ( or closest + corr.) ?
BUT as long as it pulls stronger than stock on the street, I'd be satisfied.
Should have done a before / after dyno at the same shop + operator + similar conditions.
