GranCabrio Sport - Reliability and Ownership Perspectives Please
Hi All, newly registered, and this is my first post.
Starting to do some research on reliabililty of modern Maserati's, specificlly the GranCabrio Sport. If any owners could chime in that would be great, with an info related.
A new car choice has been narrowed down to 3: Maserati GanCabrio Sport, Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet or the new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster. Yes, I know, widely different price points and wildly different driving characteristics.
I have fallen in love with the Maserati, and it seems to be the leader at this point, so just trying to get some info on the "ownership" side of it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Ben

I have owned a Maserati GT for 3 years now and have had nothing but an amazing experience with the brand. No issues at all what so ever and if there has ever been any minor issues they have taken care of it immediately and the best way possible. For example this past month I had a small part of the leather pealing and bubbling so they ordered a whole new interior kit and replaced everything at no cost to me and the car looks brand new. They have gone out of their way to make this one of the best car ownership experiences of my life. The maintenance cost has been next to nothing and very reasonable. I am sure you have your reasons for wanting a convertible but to me the MC SportLine is heaven. Good Luck.

if you're only interested in reliability, go for the porsche, but in my opinion it does not compare to the look/sound/feeling of driving a maserati. Have you considered an audi r8 spyder?

Thanks all! Not just interested in reliability. Other factors as well. One, I am leaning more towards a touring car than a flat out performance car. Another thing I am now leaning heavily towards is a functional rear seat for adults. Don't think I want to jump to the SLS Roadster price range either. The 4S or GTS back seat is a little smaller than I would like I think. So I may have made my answer. Need to sleep on it a for a few weeks and shop around for the right one.

Otherwise you should consider the Aston Martin DB9/Virage/DBS (depending on your budget) in Volante. Or maybe the new / unreleased BMW M6 Cab.

well out of those 3 cars, you can hardly fit a child in the back of a 911, no rear seats in the sls, but the rear seats in the grancabrio are actually decent. and now that you mention the gran touring factor, the maserati sounds perfect. Domani had a good idea about the new m6 coming out next year but to me, the maserati is much more interesting and fun than the m6 would be...
