how reliable is the quattroprte?
not looking at it as a daily driver but how is it's reliability and what are the biggest concerns when shopping for a used one?

My buddies o8 was in the shop every other week, it may not have been in there for little problems but the bills were always huge.

I have a 07 and have put 20,000 miles on it since last July and I've had no problems.

I've worked on and driven many in the past. I would say that they are similar to a range rover in that when they brake, they're expensive to fix. The electrical is a nightmare. If you don't keep the battery on a tender and it goes dead you have to bring the car to Maserati to get reprogrammed. I love the car, just would only get one under warranty.

if you get one from after the facelift (2008+) then you should be ok... they changed the tranny to a ZF 6-Speed which is much better...

Older ones have clutches that wear out pretty regularly and aren't cheap to replace IIRC.
