Default KW v3 + HLS kit on Maserati QP

    Hi guys,

The mod scene here has been quite dry lately. I bought a used set of KW v3 coilovers from a guy in Canada for a really good deal, but remembering my past experience with coilovers, I needed more of the "convenience" and "usability" of driving around slammed and I don't want to adjust the coilovers every other weekend while figuring out where I am going to drive, if there's any steep inclines or humps, etc.

So I spent an extra $4200 for a set of KW HLS kit + shorter springs. The HLS kit is an additional hydraulic system added onto the coilovers so at the touch of the button the car can go up to 5 cm (about 2 inches) just to get past that annoying inclines or humps. Once you get past the obstacle, you press the button again, and go back to being slammed.

This is the best compromise of both worlds. I get the performance traits of coilovers plus a lower center of gravity (tighter balance), but also the convenience of being able to go higher on obstacles.

Anyway, on to the picture. Everything was done with 2 guys and me on the front porch of my house in about 4 hours. We decided not to run the lines to the HLS kit yet because it was getting dark and we were beaaaat....

On this pic, the spring hasn't settled yet, car is off left to right by about 2 cm. But we adjusted everything before the coilovers went on the car, so I just had to drive around for a bit to settle the springs....

    This afternoon, springs settled.

The guy from Canada also had a set of error cancellors for the skyhook. We just tapped these cancellors onto the original plugs and they work like a charm. No errors!

It's even. Basically the fender is right in line with the top of the rubber so there is no gap at all.

It's really much too low to be of any practical driving use...so I really need to hook up the HLS kit a.s.a.p.

looks good, but springs take more than a afternoon to settle, give them a few weeks.
