Tracking your Maserati?
Anyone ever tracked their Maserati or Ferrari either through SCCA or some other club?
I'm curious how it went and what sort of prep you did beforehand.
FYI. I've got a Cambio Coupe

Not yet, but I plan to take my QP to either Harris Hill or Hitchcock in the next month or so.

You might want to try Hooked on Driving. They set you up with an instructor and do multiple track sessions teaching you the limits of your own car. Its a great program.

Never really thought of tracking a Maserati before. I mean sure, they're good cars, but from my understanding they're more geared towards luxury than flat out performance, am I right about this?

I am sure if you bought a maserati, stripped it, threw some racing brake pads on it, and some sticky tires, you would have a very good track car. However, at that end of the day if you were going to do that what would be the point of owning a maserati? I'm sure that you would have no problem going out and thrashing your maserati around for a track day or two a year but if you're considering more than that then you may want to invest in a new weapon (this is just my take on the situation feel free to use it or ignore it). n

Ill check those out. I did figure a new set of pads and tires would be needed.
I think they have great performance, but its not made to be tracked. Though, who says you cant have fun with your Maserati?
Who would buy a Maserati and strip it down? That would make no sense since they make way better cars for performing at a track setting. At the same time though, its always fun to break the tires loose and have fun with some spirited driving every now and then.
