Question about tuning.
I have a good friend who has an 06 Grandsport. 13k miles on it...looking to do some ecu work. He wants a way to make his shifts a little firmer. I know Fabspeed has chips available for this car, but i dont know if it effects the transmission shift firmness. Any info would be great! A few extra ponies wouldn't be a terrible thing either...

ECU changes won't change shift speeds. I am not aware of any available upgrades that will change speeds. The TCU is dynamic and adjust shift speeds based on driving habits. Lazy gas pedal = slower shift speed. Full throttle = fastest shift speed.
With that said, Formula Dynamics sells a DBWEM unit that will have the car shifting at the fastest rate available. Great upgrade."A man with a midlife crisis buys a corvette, a man with a Lamborghini has no crisis."

yea...i yell at him all the time for never driving the car and when he does its driven like a prius 99% of the time...its quite annoying...but when he hits it and hits the up paddle, he wants it to really shift hard like a "race car"...i just shake my head lol

I know exactly what you mean. If he wants to reset the system and have the TCU dump his soft driving data, he can do a battery reset. Turn off the battery using the switch in the trunk. After a few hours, go back and turn the battery on. That will bring the TCU to baseline. Fastest shifts are at full throttle.

yea pull teh battery to start, the ECU will start reassessing his driving, start driving it hard and the ECU will pick up on that
a tune (like your looking into) wont change the gear ratios, personally i advise staying away from going into that level of tuning; ive heard some not so good things about the trains in Mas.

Ahh I thought he had a GT for some reason. I would look into the Formula Dynamics drive by wire enhancement. This sounds like it would achieve what your friends looking for and increase his clutches life.
