That reminds me of the problems Bugatti faced when building their engine.

The steps are relatively simple.
1) read the owners manual cover to cover
2) ask questions about what you don't understand to the service staff at the dealership
3) follow the instructions in the owners manual that apply to your service schedule
4) re-read owners manual cover to cover and read all other booklets that come with the vehicle
5) join make and model specific owners club; both regionally and nationally
6) purchase the factory service manuals
7) follow the sage advise of the owners manual and the service staff at the dealership
By making the dealership your alley and partner early on you will have support in the future if something does go wrong.
Break in periods are intended to allow for the various components and systems to wear a little bit and become haromized with each other before the system is asked to provide maximum performance. Engine, cooling, climate control, transmission, electrical, suspension, brakes, tires and exhaust all have specific best practices that may or may not be able to be accomplished by one driving style or practice.
