My thought is, that if the difference in insurance cost is the deciding factor on choosing between those cars, you cannot afford to own either car.

2 Completely different stories. SL blends in and is not even in the same league as the GT, you can take the GT to any exotic car show and park mnext to Lambos And F cars and probablt there will be 1 or 2 like yours and 50 430s but SL always goes in the parking lot outside. They are not the same at all. But if you are looking for a car that you can drive for millions of miles then SL. As far as insurance I really dont think the difference is a deal braker.

^^ Agreed. But if I were considering a SL.....No doubt I'd only go for an AMG. Look into '08 SL55's....

believe me i concur wholeheartedly, but i just wanted to know if the 2 costs were comparable.

it is my full intention to get a GT in the coming months, save I am overwhelmed with a sudden compulsion to get a DB9.

matter of fact, I am probably going to trade in my old Ford F150 Harley D. for a slightly used maxima as a daily driver and take out the GT on the Thursday thru Sunday

If you're comparing a GT to a DB9. For DDing the GT is more comfortable, without a doubt. But the DB9 is more fun to drive but also has a very low front end. You can pick up a nice DB9 for around $75-85k (05-06). Look around and drive both. See what fits you.

FYI for all you guys in the market

So a major insurance company quoted me $3000 for 6 months on a 2008 Mas GT
A collectible insurance company quoted me $1500 for 6 months on the same car.

Damn, that's still high IMO. I'm 28 and pay less than that for 6 months for a Diablo and another car
