2012 Maserati Quattroporte Features AWD and Stop-Start System

According to Maserati CEO Harald Wester the next Quattroporte flagship will have four-wheel drive and a stop-start system. He said the company is developing a platform that will be used for all the top-of-the-range vehicles of the Fiat-Chrysler alliance.

Not happy with the sound of AWD.
That said, has anyone tried swapping in a manual transmission into the current Quattroporte? That sounds delicious.2011 Honda CR-Z EX (Milano Red/6MT)

For you guys in warm climates without snow I can see why AWD does nothing for you, but for us who live where snow comes every year AWD in the QP would be amazing. I hope they make it an option and not standard though?
