Question Anyone own or owned an 05-06 Maserati GranSport?

Looking into one of these, and curious as to what your take is if you've had or currently have one.
They can be had for decent money with low miles and some good warranty left.
I've heard the horror stories on clutch and F1 pumps on these.... and the fact that Maserati service in near non-existent!
Anything else from those experienced is much appreciated.

I have a lot of experience with them. Be not afraid. Great ride for the $$$. Friend of mine has an 03 silver/blk carbon fiber 19K mi he HAS to sell. You could steal it! Let me know if there is interest. I am also very close with Continental Motors and am happy to make an intro. There service guys that work on Maserati are really good. You can also buy an extended warranty through Toyota for cheap.

If you can take the very long shifts then get a GS. I can tell you from experience that my dad had a '03 Maserati CC and it shifted so badly and we looked at a '06 GS a couple weeks ago with 4k miles for $39k. Test drove it and it was the same story as the the '03 CC...Some people don't see it and some people do...

If you want shorter tighter shifts add Formula Dynamics Drive by wire module, and ALWAYS drive it in sport mode shortens the shifts considerably...all that though it will still take a few weeks to really learn how to drive the car properly.

LeoNardo (Dymex) also has a TCU upgrade but the cost and the down time to send my TCU to Germany makes me nervous of doing it.

If in fact it were an 06 GS w/4,000 miles for 39k, there had to have been some sort of issue with the title or something. 05's are not even that cheap w/20+k miles on them.

I totally agree...there was/is a problem with that car for that money. I have an 05' GS that I love...it's damn near bullet proof! I think I am somewhere around 16K and the only problem so far was the "Starter button" failed...sucked, but was a quick fix at the F' car shop. Love the car...only drive in "Sport" and never use "Auto". FYI...good luck!
