How horrible is the computer system to use on an 09 GT?
Just curious. Pretty sure I'm going to confirm the purchase on my Nissan GTR on monday, but I'm just making sure i'm 100%.
I've watched reviews and videos on the maserati Granturismo, and the biggest turn off for me of the entire car has to be that computer system. It looks messy, ugly, complicated, and underpowered. Am I mistaken?2012 Maserati Granturismo (Bianco Elderado) - August 3, 2012

The GTR compared to the Gran Turismo is like night and day based on performance. The computer system is not as bad as it used to be in the Maserati's, but it is not a great system. It is basically everything you mentioned, but is a much better system compared to the older vehicles. The GTR computer system is much more advanced and a breeze to use. Enjoy the GTR, buddy!

It's just tempting because the granturismo looks SO good, and I've had a car thats .3 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile than a GTR for 2 years now. I'll still probably wind up with the GTR cause the GT's looks will wear off soon.

Not sure what you mean. I have a Maserati GT and could not enjoy and love it anymore than I have. What do you mean by the computer system? I am not sure what is expected of it but it does everything that I need. In my opinion the two cars are not comparable. I am sure the GTR is faster and more of an agile car but when it comes to looks and prestige Mas takes it all. Its really a touring car and an amazing all around ride.

I'm talking about the computer system on the dash with the navigation and all that. Anyway.. Would you say the car gets little or a lot of attention? I'm ready to step down From thumbs ups everywhere and picture taking. Gets old after a while

No issues what so ever. I am not one to use electronics to its max but as far as the nav and audio goes I have never had a problem.

Hm.. Alright. I'm gonna go check one out today. I just cant imagine stepping down from 11.4 second times to 14 seconds, but change is always good.

Maserati is no rocketship and you have to get out of that mindset. But It is an exotic and the GTR is not.
Yeah, GTR is a teenagers car. The GTS gets a lot of looks and replacement parts are going to be cheaper than the GTR HAHA. I REALLY like the nav system and dash electronics on it. The navigation itsself is almost as good as the new sync system in my raptor which is awsome.
For 100k for a used GTS with a 4yr CPO warranty vs a 100k for a new GTR it really depends on what your going to use it for. If you drive and run it thru the gears every single time you drive you'll probally want the GTR. If you like to cruise and commute and get on it once in a while then the maser is the choice.
I DO want a GTR however. It has to be owned as a 3rd or 4th car imo, not an only car.

See, that's what I'm thinking about. My car im selling to buy the GTR I used to drive fast everywhere, but I've had it for. 2 years. It does the 1/4 in 11.4 which is 2011 GTR territory. I'm afraid the GTR is going to be a Camaro that can corner. And not a new experience, where the Maserati is a totally new driving experience.
