Contender in my opinion are the best boats on the water. My fav to own would be a 27, which is a 31 LOA, I think the 31 is 35 LOA correct? What color you painting it. Fighting lady yellow? Doing new electronics?

    Congrats on the purchase!

35' LOA it's a pretty big boat I was in the works to get a Nortech but the wifey found a deal on this and said to get it. Boat is getting pulled down completely every nut and bolt will be changed, all new console, T Top, electronics,Wiring, I think were even painting the motors. Even ordered some underwater lights and camera from Bryan. New front sundeck being built as we speak, trying to figure out the sound system now.

Boats going to be new red to the chime line, then snow white. Also Martin Abel make me a sick graphic for the sides of the boat.

Thats what I love about Contenders, they are like 4 ft longer than the actual model says they are. The 31 is very popular down here and in the Florida Keys. I would like to get my hand on a 27 ( repo'd, auction, etc) So I can rebuild it my way too.

I think the re-built is going to be amazing, the painted motors is a big thing down here, if your motors are not painted your not doing it "BIG" lol. What color are you going to do the motors? color matched or black with matching graphics? I really hate the Yamaha "gray" on the boats. Merc Black would be nice.

What are you doing with all the Brightworks? leaving it all aluminum or going powdercoated?

If I may suggest sound system stuff, JL AUDIO marine is the ONLY way to go. I have had everything you can think of. On our boat (27 Edgewater on twin 250 Yami's) I redid the whole stereo, with JL components, subwoofers and amps. The thing ROCKS!! We can be at the sandbar and boats around us will ask us to turn it louder so they can listen to our boat. LOL, the only thing that is not JL is the head unit, we ran a Sony marine, with console mounted and transom mounted controler. They are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

    Keep us posted!
