Default Is it possible to manouver a 100' yacht by yourself?

For sale: Azimut Azimut 98 Leonardo, Italy - JamesList

Would it be possible to manouver this by yourself? A friend of mine and myself are having a discussion on the matter.
I think it's possible. Out on the water it shouldn't be that hard with all the technology aboard.
And when docking, there are small propellers on the sides which you can manouver with a joystick. Our at least you can get them, am I correct?

    What are your thoughts?

No. You need at least two for even smaller yachts. But if you have help waitin at the dock that might be different. Even with the tech you still need a hand.

Sure, you can, but like others said, should you? No.
While the idea of owning a 100' boat is sexy, (aside from the 100K per year to maintain it) those 'small propellers' on the sides are called bow and or stern thrusters respectively. I'd suggest you pick up a touch more experience in the boating world before considering such a thing.

Can you pilot the boat on open water by yourself? Sure. Chart plotter, AIS, etc., sure. Under the very best of conditions, in a perfect world. I take the controls of ours quite often. There should be no need for a second person to stand watch, (at least one other STCW95 qualified person) an engineer to attend to mechanical issues whilst underway (and trust me, with an Italian boat, I speak from experience, you'll employ a full time engineer and a well qualified deck hand.) If you get anywhere close to a marina or harbor with other boats, you're in trouble. We'll pass right by the conversation of docking, handling lines and fenders.

    Happy Sailing!

If by maneuver you mean crash into the dock. Then yes you can maneuver it all by your lonesome.

I know that it is a completely different ballgame but i've been on Tatoosh. It's 300 feet and carries a crew of 30.
