$70k.. Look up the price on a 600 sci with transom, drive, engine, tranny, etc.. Price is "reasonable", considering.. The verado Sci (NOT a performance outboard) is $30k and only 350hp

I think what they are doing is awesome and wish them the ABSOLUTE best of luck! Mercury needs SOMEONE to yank their chain and keep their pricing in check..

I always had hopes that Honda would show up out of the blue with a 450hp 4 stroke, high rpm, screaming outboard.. But no luck.

So if an American company wants to come along and blow everyone out of the water, GO FOR IT!! And being that this is nothing more than a caddy motor crammed onto a gearcase and lower, ANY mechanic that can change belts will be able to work on them.. They wont be "that" marine specific ($$$)..

Not to mention you could throw on all the go-fast goodies from the aftermarket suppliers (if the gearcase holds up to more hp)

Those exhaust manifolds must get a little hot in there... Doesnt look like they get cooled until well below the runners.

They are water injected right at the flange on the header. You can see the horizontal feed tube running along the top of the flange.

saw them at the boat show here in Miami, strapped to the back of an new Intrepid. Killer outboard for sure, but the 70k price tag is steep.

Im sure this summer at the sandbar we will see some out there.

Curious anyone seen any sea trial videos or press?
