Ya, there's a couple of 50' nortechs running quad engines and quad drives. Jim lees 46' skater FREEDOM US-1 used to be the ZERO DEFECT race boat and it ran 4 engines on two drives. Using chain boxes on a shaft. Also, RECYCLER runs 4 engines on 2 6's I believe. I was in it at lake ofthe ozarks about two or three years ago. It was a pretty wild setup. A LOT of maintenence on that little toy!
I'm gonna be at the Miami boat show and the rumor is this will be there for the poker run. So I'll get a chance ti crawl around it and get some questions answered. Such a cool idea!! I wonder what the fuel economy is on 2 v16s versus to equivalent HP blower motors.

Yes, we all get how much abuse Marine stuff is on engines.
Just like road racing for 4,8,12,24 hours. Or Offroad racing for 250,500,1000 miles.
I am just saying, lots and lots of motors have been coupled together. The weak link has always been either the couplers, or the front of the crankshaft on the rear motor. I have seen even the most expencive crankshafts snouts ripped off, just driving big superchargers.
Fuel comsumption, Cost, and all the rest...... There is a reason this isn't comon place already. So unless those reasons have been addressed, I am a skeptic, and there is nothing wrong with that. I am sure with time, more photos will come out from the shows the boat hits, and water time and more people running them, and we will find out. (Kinda like when the QuadRotor motors all came out, and the snouts kept ripping off the whipples.... took time to work the bugs out)
And for the person that asked about fuel consuption on a 1500hp blower motor.....well at idle its going to be less then a N/A 750-800hp motor, due to the design in the camshaft for boost. However under full load situations, its going to be thirsty
HP = Fuel

I've owned a business, and still spend many summer weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks, where that boat is kept. That shop, Nauti Marine, used to be sponsored by Anheuser-Busch until AB pulled out of lots of sports sponsorships when it became InBev.
It is awesome to watch the raw power of that Mystic, Geico's Mystic, and the other MTIs that run at the Lake of the Ozarks during the summer.
If you have never heard of 'The Shootout' at the Lake of the Ozarks, Google/YouTube it. 200mph top speed runs.

I make it to the shootout every year.. Dave Scotts (nauti marine) old boat, the 44' MTI Budweiser Select is now here at our lake. I help take care of it and tow it to the runs. Very VERY fast boat with the new power. Its now called "ROCKSTAR PUNCHED" and is stickered up as a raceboat. Check this thread for more info:
