Just to go along with what was said above, I would agree that a 4wd 2500 truck is a must. As for a license, it's a state-by-state thing. In NC, if you are over the age of 26 and have a valid NC drivers license, you are not required to have a boating license. Since I am 21, however, I am required to take a online safety course and show proof of completion. It cost me about $30, took a few hours, and they sent me my completion card in the mail.

And, just like everyone will tell you, a boat, by definition, is a hole in the water, typically surrounded by wood, that you dump cash into. One of the most expensive hobbies out there

Texas's Official Boating Safety Course and Online Boating License Exam

I would just first ask a wildlife officer or do some research and see if you even need one. My card says it's recognized by the US Coast Guard, so I believe it's valid in any state.

I have been a boat owner most of my life. Started with my dad and I still have the bug. Boats are just like anything if you take care of them they will stay in great shape. Storing them inside is a must and just because it's inside doesn't mean that you dont need to cover it.

I have always been told that BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand!!
