is it possible to hook up shore power at your own home?
my buddy pulled one battery out of his boat and the second one went dead. now he has no way to open the hatch to get to the battery or wiring. yes the boat has the external terminals but with the one bat out the circuit is not complete.

The external terminals should be wired direct to the hatch actuator. Using a jumper pack on the terminals should give you 12v to lift the hatch. Thats the advantage of hydraulic over electric screw, you can still open it with a little effort. Shore power isn't what you're looking for, its not a 120v hatch and all that would do is send power to the battery charger. What kind of boat is it?

To add to what the others have said, yes you can. You would just need to purchase an adapter to attach to your home outlet.

Is this what you're thinking of...
Marinco 83A Adapter, changes 15A House outlet, to a 30A outlet for just such a purpose...
