Sounds amazing!
I have an Elise and I've been looking into a second Lotus to add to my garage. For $50-60K, I've narrowed it down to either a 2002-04 Esprit V8TT or a slightly used Evora.
Allan, how did you like the two Esprits you've owned? Which car would you recommend for $50-60K, the Esprit or the Evora?'11 Grey Taurus SHO (daily driver)

that is a fantastic sound!

I would buy an Esprit anyday, especially since you can get one for quite a bit less than 50-60K.. Can prob get one around 40K. The final editions actually have the red race ecu and dyno right around 350rwhp. With a few slight mods you gain approx 30rwhp and 70 ft lbs of tq. I think for the money, the Esprit is one of the most exciting cars you can buy. I plan to buy another, and that would be my 3rd.

Thank you for the info Allan, I appreciate your insight. I've now decided that it will be a '02-04 Esprit that I'll purchase.
Originally I was leaning towards the Evora. I've heard good things about the handling, reliability (Toyota engine like my Elise, which has been rock solid) and like some of the features. However, I just couldn't fall in love with the car. It's too tall, too rounded and just not aggressive enough for a Lotus. Also, I've owned a 2000 NSX so it's hard to get too justify a car that's a decade newer and is even slower ~280 hp, 3000 lbs. While the Evora S would be closer in performance to the Esprit, it's just very overpriced imo.
The Esprit isn't a car where the looks would have to "grow on me", I find Esprit's stunning at first sight. Classic exotic styling, low, wide and aggressive and a nice amount of punch. I'm looking forward to adding one to my garage soon
I'm sure It will make a nice stable mate to my Elise which is currently getting a Katana 2 SC.
Be sure to post some pictures when you get your third Esprit, I always enjoy reading your posts!'11 Grey Taurus SHO (daily driver)
