Thread: Lotus Elan Postponed Until 2016

During the Paris Motor Show last year we learned that Lotus had big plans for the near future. Today we can tell you that at least one car is postponed untill 2016. The two seater mid-engined coupé, Elan, will not be launched for another five years.

Lotus says that de Evora will be dropped from the line-up by 2016, but it depends on the success of the Evora.

personally, I'm not entirely convinced that its because they want to keep the Evora around longer (since it has fairly lackluster sales) so much as its because they dont have the money to get the factories setup for the Elan, so they need to string the Evora along to stay afloat.
