Elise as a daily driver??
Hey guys,
I am wondering if anyone here knows or daily drives their Lotus Elise/Exige?
I am considering picking one up and driving it in Florida.
I have driven them before and am 5'10.. just never had an opportunity to have it longer than a couple days.
What are some major pros and cons?
Thanks!

Dont plan on bringing anything more than one person and your cell phone with you. And we get lots of rain in FL so it may be hard to hold sometimes.

Bad idea if you have chubby friends..

It's a pain in the ass to get in and out of as a daily driver, regardless of size. My boss tried using his as his daily...didn't last too long
Never put up with something high maintenance, unless it's high performance.

As I say on mine: "Its motivational yoga getting in and out, but once your in the Lotus position."
I have owned one for 2+ years and the two things I would worry about in Florida would be.
1) Getting in and out. Its similar to getting into and out of a car with a full roll cage. Can be done, just takes some effort.
2) the AC. can be done. there are some people on the lotus page that drive them everyday in Florida, but it may take some tuning to get it working good enough for your heat and humility.
the flip side is the car is FUN. Go and drive one..

Thanks for all the replies!
I don't ever plan on having more than me or a girl or friend in the car ... I like the whole idea in the car that less is more.. I dont drink or eat in any of my current cars anyways.
Ill ask around with the Florida guys in terms of rain... but I think it would be manageable.
Ive driven them before, but I guess Ill try and rent one for a couple days and see if I can run daily errands in it.1994 Formula Red Acura NSX

Yea, I used mine as a daily driver for a while too, but getting in and out is a pain in the arse. If you do down town type driving you will scrap the nose up a lot. It is great and doable as a daily however. As Sleepy996 put it, bulletproof! Never had an issue with her.
