As a followup... I stopped by the dealer today and drove a production ready Evora. Good news and bad news... The good news is that the fit and finish is great, and a drive in a new one confirmed that the "mule" I drove was a well used car. The bad news is that the US car does not have a dead peddle at all. The mule I drove had one in an odd place so they decided to just take it off. That got real old really fast (I was on the highway a bit).
I really wanted to get one as a DD for a while but I just cannot deal with that. It's another 911 for me...

Saw a black one in downtown Denver and I thought it looked really cool in person. Is this car as awkward to get into as the Elise? I rented one for a day and it was always funny to see the people I gave rides to try and figure out the most graceful way to hop in. The shifter on that car was pretty crap as well and so was the shifter on another Elise I drove so maybe thats just a lotus thing?

It's bigger than an Elise but smaller than a 911. I found it much easier to get into and out of compared to my Exige. The later Elise/Exige had upgraded shifter hardware (mine seems fine) and there are kits to make it even better. I suspect there will be a nice short shift kit for the Evora that will fix that... It is a nice looking car and it drives great; just the ergonomics are incredibly bad.
