Default I Really didn't like the EVORA

Got a chance to play in it last night. Looks great but one thing I could never get used to.

While talking with one of the Factory Reps, he said they knew it was maybe a problem but its all they could do.

Because of the location of the front wheel wells, the pedals have been shifted over to the right. WAY OVER!!! While seated in a normal position, with legs straight out, the clutch lines up with my right foot. I had to go out of my way to get my foot bent over enough to reach the gas pedal and was constantly hitting the brake and clutch at the same time.

What a waste because the overall feel of the interior is nice.

Eek... I didn't get a chance to drive one, but my best friend and I both got rides. I think aesthetically it's a nice car, but I'm not crazy to buy one like I was with my Elise. I was really impressed with the creature comforts. It's about time!

Thats par for the course with most mid engine V8 F-cars. Guess you would'nt be happy with an F40. Its just not a problem and all psychological. Don't look at your feet when you drive = problem solved.

Go up to the OC auto show this week-end, he will have one up there. All it takes is about 30 seconds of siting in one to know what I am talking about. I am sure that if you drove one all the time you could get used to it. I am just saying that I don't think I could.

and 993 pcars...when you aren't used to that position everyday it certainly is noticeable at first though after the first few corners you forget about it...especially in deep fixed recaro buckets

Didn't notice it in the Elise, nor the old Esprit. Also had no trouble with the Porsche 911, or 996 (haven't driven a 993). Also never driven a F40, but can you tell that I didn't notice it the 308, 328 nor the new 430.

What is this picture of, doesn't look like the Evora. I do remember bringing it to his attention that my foot would not fit on the footrest without touching the clutch, and I am only a size 11 shoe.

^^^Next time your in a 308 or 328 look at your feet. They will be offset. Again, whether you notice it or not is all in the brain. F430, make sure its a 6 speed manual and look at your feet. Virtually any mid engine sports car with a forward seating position AND wide front tires (McLaren F1 excepted) will have some form of pedal offset.

I am not arguing the offset. I am just saying that to me the clutch should not be aligned with your right leg. You'll notice my original post I used the term "WAY OVER!!!.

Also like I said above, even the guy that worked for Lotus said "Yes, we know it may be a problem"

    ^^^Got it! I was'nt arguing either.

If you look at this pick, at the the top, you will see the steering column u joint AND the stitching around the column adjuster. This pic is from a 430 Scuderia, but keep in mind all the F430s and F360s have the exact same pedal box and front bulhead castings. On the 6 speed manual cars, the clutch pedal shares that little open spot between the brake and dead pedal, which puts it right inline with the steering column. Why don't people notice this? Cause you're about to drive a really cool car and you're looking through the windshield not at your feet. I have'nt driven an Evora yet, but when I do, I'll see how it compares.
