Range Rover Sport Autobiography - Custom Alcantara Headliner
Hey guys,
I picked up a 2011 Range Rover Sport Autobiography in July of this year... I love everything about the truck but I couldn't understand how a Range Rover Sport (especially the "Autobiography" model) comes with a beige roofliner. This was the only thing I could say almost made me not buy this car. Before putting my $$ down on the car, I looked into having the roof done in Alcantara as it obviously wouldn't be worth doing all the work, just to wrap it in a black fabric/cloth material. Keep in mind, with any "nice" car, when you get into a Sport Package or an ///M package on BMWs, or AMG package on Mercedes; the car comes with a black roofliner at the very least. and in the higher end models..you get Alcantara. Take for example and M5 or an M6...my girlfriends mom has a 535 with a sport package (not even the M Package) and she has a black roofliner, her father has a Mercedes S450 with the AMG package, and he too has a black roofliner. So it really is beyond me how any Range Rover would even come with anything less then a black roofliner. I believe the autobiography model should be offered not only with a black roofliner, but even with an alcantara roofliner.
Anyways..here are the pics..I used my Blackberry for these pics..I will take proper pictures this weekend and post them up here.

Looks great! I completely agree with you about the Headliner though... However Range Rover on the full size made it an option to get a black leather headliner - however it is OPTIONAL...

Anyway, I love the new range rover factory leathers... It really gives the car character...
Now all you need is some KAHN RS300's in Satin Black with Red Pinstripe

I need to do my headliner black. Not just because it looks great but also to hide all the dog hair. My Great Dane likes to move around while I'm driving and his head and back hit the headliner all the time. His dark hair stands out like a sore thumb against that cream color.

Bring it on in... Weve done several and it looks amazing once done. We have a custom double stitched setup that really looks great!
Just ask L4P Member MattyToe23 - we recently did his and it came out fantastic!TAG MOTORSPORTS

you have JUST what I wanted.
Did you order the fabric yourself or have a fabric place do everything?

Really? Your dealer told you they don't make it in white...I'd be pissed about that hahaha!!
The fabric was ordered in, it is real alcantara, not just regular suede or microsuede. From what I know, it goes for nearly $100 per yard, perhaps someone can confirm that?
And then I had one guy remove it, another guy wrapped it for me and then the same guy who removed it, re-installs everything and paints the plastic parts. However, I am slowly beginning to get OEM Range Rover parts in black since the 2012 Autob comes with an "OPTIONAL" black roofliner. So I have ordered the 4 handles, 2 speaker grilles for the trunk, 2 sun visors, to be redone (highly recommend against painting them, just doesnt look good on those).
I can post part #s as I get them if anyone wants.
By the way, the parts may take weeks or months to get as they are so new they are not even entered into their parts system yet. I actually ended up ordering Jaguar XF black interior handles because they were the only ones that were the exact same as the Range Rover Sport.Last edited by Slammed; 11-15-2011 at 03:15 AM.

AWESOME FIND!! I've been holding off on doing my liner almost 2 years because I was not comfortable with painted plastics...great to hear there will be an OEM option, finally! Totally agree with you, I dont understand why this wasnt available from the start.
Please provide the part #s as you get them. As soon as all parts are available, I can FINALLY do my headliner!
Great post, thanks!
