Default Having fun with a RR...

Took my 2010 RR SC on some trips this past July. Went on a trip to the Black Rock Desert (amongst several other places), and just wanted to share a few pics!

Entering the playa on day (evening) 1:

    Our own dust cloud:

Gratuitous dirt short, still day 1:

    Another gratuitous shot:

    The playa:

The first morning - wreckage on the playa:

    Playa is big:

    Bruno's:

Stuck pick-up. Someone mentioned it had been there for 2 weeks...:

On the Applegate-Lassen trail heading towards Soldier Meadows:

Soldier Meadows Hot Springs (our campsite for the second night):

No camping meal would be complete without this:

    Abrams tanks on a train?

Some of the other pictures I took...

With one of the other RR's (a '95 LWB, many changes coming soon...):

Looks like a lot of fun, but not some place id want to break down at. I don't think AAA would send a tow truck lol

Yeah, probably not the best place to break down. I've been to more remote places in this and my previous RRs and have been fortunate enough not to have any issues (knock on wood...). RR unreliability is definitely over-hyped (the 2010 is my fourth RR of this body style, and haven't had many issues at all with any of the others).

Not to get off topic, but do you think a VW touareg would hold up in that journey ?

Not as familiar with how reliable those are... some of the stuff we went through was pretty gnarly (that's what the rock sliders are for...), so I'll say no

**although, if you outfit it properly, anything's possible!
