Default LR3 or RRS? Thoughts, Opinions?

So my wife needs a new SUV. Must be able to haul kids and a dog. I would like a tow hitch. Does anyone have any experience with the L43? Pros, cons? Things to look out for? And then compared to the RRS? Also if anyone has input on the maintenance costs for either I'd love to hear it. Thanks guys!

i drove an lr3 for a day as a service loaner. absolutely hated it. such a gutless truck. get your self a sport supercharged and enjoy it! my range rover has been just perfect. If I really have to complain it would be the brembo's are a bit squeeky but I hear thats the case on all of them. Mine only squeek when your crawling and just covering the brake.
current: ferrari f430 spyder, mercedes benz ml63, bmw 750li

sold: murcielago roadster, bentley continental gt, lexus ls600hl, range rover sport supercharged, range rover autobiography, bmw x5, srt10 viper, corvette, etc.

    Don't do it.

If you do, Purchase it new with warranty and be sure to have a dealership near by. Older models were more reliable.

If she is looking for a larger SUV I recommend the Lexus LX570.

^ or an escalade. but the size difference is quite noticeable. take a look at my picture to get an idea. if your looking for a truck with everything. nothing beats the rr. the range rover has such a tight ride.

I looked at Escalades and Denali's. I think they are too big for my 5'1" wife to take a child seat in and out of. She drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee right now. Which is a good size for her. She likes it...but does not want another Jeep...as she's had 3. Plus i'd like a slightly bigger and nicer vehicle. I think the Lex LX is a bit too big as well. But have never looked at them.

May go test drive the LR3 this week.

Was looking more for 08 or 09 used Rovers...hopefully still with warranty. There is a Rover dealer less than 2 miles from my house.

Get the LR3 it is way better for hauling people and dogs.

Older models were NOT more reliable. Pre BMW cars suck. Ford Developed new Disco...FORD. 2010 Models will be AMAZING! 5.0 Liter engines for ALL models.

People that comlain about Rovers are people that bought used/cheap and did not anticipate repair costs of a luxury vehicle.

Warranty is key. In the last 2 years I have had over $5000 parts/labor performed on my 2004 under warranty, another $4K in tunes I paid because I like to keep my truck up. This was a certified Used with extended warranty. I bought with 13K miles. Maintenance costs average $2K-$3K a year with any RR.

Rovers are expensive and it doesn't help that their value plummets. But so do Maserati's.
