Default Land Rover Defender Wood edition by Vilner

Vilner design studio, The Bulgarian customizer (named, for some reason, after a Lithuanian city) has superbly redone the interiors on everything from the Smart ForTwo and Toyota iQ to the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Infiniti FX37. And for its latest trick, it has tricked out the most spartan of Land Rovers. The Bulgarian firm has improved upon the Land Rover Defender with an interior further enhancing their credo that more luxury is always better.

The Land Rover Defender Wood is appropriately-named due to its beautiful and expertly-crafted wooden floor. It covers a powerful sound system complete with DVD player and 15-inch LCD screen. On top of the wooden floor are brown Nappa leather-wrapped seats and side panels.

Love the way it looks, such a modern twist to the defender however I spot a snorkel. Then I thought, wood floor + water..hmmm

Why is it impossible to get an automatic for the defender, with all these tip-tronic transmissions, I would personally want that over a manual. Also why isn't all of the range rover off road technology in the defender.... puzzling

High tech off-road gear is easy to break, and Defenders are normally bare bones, off-road workhorses. Defenders can get over and through more than any Range Rover with far less gadgets - trust me, I have both. That said, the interior is gorgeous, but I'd never build a Defender with it. I prefer being able to hose out my Defender.

That's a great inplementation of modernizing a defender. But the wood and the snorkel do refute each other.
