CONGRATS! You've won a 640 Roadster! (bet you he crashes it)

Truck driver wins Lamborghini, crashes it hours later | Motoramic - Yahoo! Autos

Thanks to a Utah convenience store's contest, Frito-Lay truck driver David Dopp won another set of wheels last Saturday: this lime-green, 631-hp Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640, worth at least $200,000. Such an awesome car that will...oops, he already wrecked it.
Just a few hours after getting the keys to the V-12 powered Italian supercar named for a famed Spanish fighting bull, Dopp took to the roads around his home in Santaquin, Utah. According to In Santaquin News, police were called about dusk after a witness spotted the all-wheel-drive Lambo bass-ackwards in a field, with skidmarks from where it left the road.
Dopp -- who had apparently already taken one call from the local police about takin' it easy before going off-road -- says he was going about 40 mph to 50 mph on a 35-mph road when he hit a patch of what he called black ice or gravel. The police report says the car went over a curb, off the road and 75 feet into the field, calling the accident "speed related."
The Murcielago is now bound for Las Vegas, where mechanics will calculate a repair estimate on the busted oil pan and damaged bumper. Dopp, who has insurance, says the day was "an emotional roller coaster." If you mess with a bull, don't be surprised when you get the horns.Last edited by Flyinglakland; 12-20-2011 at 11:35 PM.

Kinda sad really, I think they should have gifted him with a HPDE class as well. I mean putting a murci in the hands of someone who has never driven one cannot end well.

Ive never driven a murci, but according to top gear reviews of this car, and the size of those tires, it doesn't seem like 40 in a 35 would put the car off like that.

i agree... although do not believe the contest organizers should be considered responsible for this guys own mistakes.... it would have been cool if they included a few driving lessons along with the car.
in the end... the responsibility lies on the guy behind the wheel.... if someone gives you an incredibly powerful tool that you have never used before, you should seek out some training or guidance before using it, right?
AND btw, black ice is VERY sneaky... you dont see it, and it can put ANY car into the ditch... i agree its probably just this guys excuse to save face, but anyone who has hit a patch of black ice knows what im talking about."I spent 90% of my money on women, cars, and booze. The other 10% I wasted."

My mom hit a patch of black ice and spun a 360 when I was a kid. Nobody was around so it was fine, but that shit is scary.
I would also assume that a person with common sense would take it easy driving their new 200k car, but I guess not. -_____-

I read about this on MSN or Yahoo... I have mixed feelings. I kind of want to laugh but at the same time I feel bad. Also what happens when the car has to go in for maintenance????(If he didnt crash it) The guy remortgages his house..? haha.
