Is there a way to disable that? Seems like a good solid second before the thing starts to really accelerate? Makes it really bog down on the launch.
How is activated/engaged?

I think he made a mistake or something. Car came to a stop after a launch, and after that it was just him gassing it up. I think he let go of the gas after the launch!

Looks like just a bit of wheels spin, took the traction control a split second to adjust due to the road look a bit damp or he simply just didn't do it right. I could be wrong though.
