The Gallardos that I personally know are changing at 5k miles.
Murcis are supposed to change at 3k. Apparently they are good at clogging up the OEM filter, which then opens the relief valve and allows debris into the oil ports within the heads. . . and then engines go bye-bye.
This is how I do it: oil & filter change; 3k miles later filter change and top off with oil; 3k miles later filter & oil change. But I use an oil that has a history of not breaking down easily.

It should tell you in the manual what Oil to use. It will recommend one. READ it

SL holds 10 qts of oil. Those that change oil at 3k miles or 3 months are just wasting resources. The manual states the service levels. The old 3/3 rule is from the 80's and no longer applies. In fact, CA is trying to pass a rule to prevent wasting oil based on 3/3 rule. Modern oil has lots of additives that stablizes the oil for extended use. My decision to follow the manual is not about saving money itself but not wasting resources. Changing oil more than needed is like throwing away tires when they are only 1/3 worn.

Just wondering, the Oil department is always a huge conversation. Kind of like Politics to me. Talk about it in the wrong way its going to blow up in your face all over a forum.
I'm not expert on oil so thats why I asked."You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life" -Winston Churchill

unfortunately for me, my car is missing the manual O.o Also, its always good to ask local people where their personal experience, there might be something better since my car came out in 2008? There advice might better apply to my vehicle versus the factory manual which might be written for a different country, region, climate, driving style etc etc.

Any modern synthetic 5w40 will work.
If your unsure about longevity, change it up. Do an oil change at 3k and send to black stone labs. Then a 4k and send a sample in. Its like $35 per sample.East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
