I love seeing articles like this! $18,000 is almost humorous!

^^^The ad. is probably from around 1966/'67 since it says "production begins this fall "

And 18,000$ back then should be equal to around $120k today.
But still great find! I really like looking at old magazines and try to get a glimpse of what life was like back then. The tendency is to push it as far as you can!

At the time of that article:
Gasoline was about $0.27/gallon US
American cars like the Camaro, Cyclone, etc, were going for only $2500
The Miura is 7.5x more than a larger American sedan. To put that into perspective, the average BMW 3 series is about $30-40K.
7.5x that is 225,000 - 300,000 - A Ferrari F458 optioned out, or a Lambo L640 optioned out fit into that same ball park, so not much has changed in the game of exotics.

As said before, this was back in 1966 in Popular Mechanics. I did a brief search and these MSRP'd for only around $13K actually.
Went to the NADA sight to see what they're going for now (only 764 were built mind you) and the pricing ranges from $186,600 at the low end, and $370,000 at the high end.
Would really liked to see this in person:
