Default Kurt Busch Fired from Penske Racing

Kurt Busch fired by Penske Racing - Sports Blog - CBS News

This is unfortunate news, and quite embarrassing for someone who is a former NASCAR Champion. Him and his brother are highly talented drivers, but their off track and on track actions along with short tempers are costing them dearly. Hopefully they can both turn it around.

Perfect. Hoping Kyle gets wacked from JGR before the day is out....
These two have no personal qualitis that should make them stars and heros - hopefully this will bring some sort of humility/grow-up lesson to them. They are fortunate to be making their millions by doing what they love - racing/entertainment - and that there is a queue of people just praying for the opportunity to take your place.

As long as Penske makes the right hire for his next driver. Regan Smith (Southern 500 winner) has imo done more in customer equipment (RCR chassis, ECR engines) comparably than David Ragan, Reutimann or Vickers have in in-house chassis and factory engines (TRD & Roush-Yates). Hornish or Smith should be his only options, Hornish was showing marked improvement before being let go his first time ala AJ Allmendinger and is a Penske guy who understands how to operate in that company.

KB will stay in Cup, between his past-champions provisional and name recognition he will end up somewhere, betting on MWR or Earnhardt-Gannasi.

+1 for Regan Smith. I wish it would have happened early enough in the season for Clint Boyer to get the ride instead of going to MWR.

AJ Allmendinger officially hire by Penske for the #22 car. Big career move for a guy with alot of potential, good to see the ride wasn't given to Ragan, way less upside than the Dinger, Smith or Hornish.
