Nope. To be competitive you need to invest your own money in racing schools or training. Then buy your own cart/car and try to prove yourself. You are lucky to get noticed at all, let alone sponsored.

It really is how you market yourself. My second year of karting I had enough sponsor support I didn't pay a dime and even one year made a few hundred bucks off of it. On track advertising shouldn't even be half of what you offer to a business looking for advertising.

ANYONE interested in racing though should start with karts, if you're just looking for fun, do track days and eventually buy a race car.

I drag race but I don't think that is the type of racing you are talking about.

No im more talking about circuit racing to be honest, i think im going to have to stick with cleaning cars for a bit longer in order to raise the suitable amount of money thats needed, and also pick up one or two mechanical tips along the way, not forgetting the old pay and play at the kart circuits

If your looking to get into circut racing get some kart experience under your belt, then invest in driver schools/programs. Some manufactures have their own such as Porsche and if you by chance are stand out enough in their advanced programs may get a development chance with them (VERY SLIM) or you can get into a lesser series like the skip barber formula V series. Most of the time it is working your way up the ranks through the feeder series to the main stage.

Skip Barber is FAR greater than Porsches school.

Skip Barber is the way to go if you have the money and you're good as they DO offer special things to special drivers. Plus you can get a competition license, race in their series, and loads of other things.

It's not Skip Barber Formula V either. lol Formula V is a formula class using primarily old VW Beetle parts. Skip Barber has two different cars really both use Mazda engines. They also now have the MX-5 Cup cars as well if you want to go the fendered route.

First, porsche will never pick up a student, because if you were good you wouldn't be there in the first place. And the skip barber cars aren't formula V's. It's also not a lesser series. I raced in it. It is one of the most competitive series below the pro level that I can think of at the moment.
