FIA decides Renault/Flavio's fate
The Official Formula 1 Website
Renault/Flavio's conduct was bad. Really bad.
Cliff's notes: In the 2008 Singapore GP, the boss at Renault orchestrated an intentional crash of Nelson Piquet's F1 car in order to ensure a points win for Fernando Alonso in the other Renault F1 car. He put the lives of the drivers, F1 staff, and the spectators at risk by doing so.
Renault has been banned from F1 for 2 years and Flavio Briatore has been banned from any FIA event in any capacity for life.Last edited by TJ; 09-21-2009 at 07:35 PM.

The reason he quit is because they were going to come down hard on him. It's not like he left for personal reasons and then this came to light. It's not like Richard Nixon resigned because he was getting tired of being president

He is a cheater, no denying that.
Who cares? Well, if you've followed F1, there is no denying Flavio's influence on the sport. Michael Schumacher probably wouldn't have achieved the level of greatness he did without Flavio. He was a mentor to a lot of successful drivers. It's a shame to see his legacy tarnished by something like this.

I have followed F1.
With all the old school guys leaving F1 is going to lose much of it's flair that it still has.
Schummy, Ron Dennis, Flav.....
At least we still have VJ Mallya. (sarcasm)
