Questions about The Motor Sport Country Club.
I have been looking into The Motor Sport Country Club for about a year now. I have a friend that is a member. I talked to Mike Bergren at a Car Show at Dave Co Liquors. Then I talked to Mike Magree at the Denver Auto Show. I have also talked to Claus at the party inside the museum in November. I have also recieved a copy of membership package. I seen this site as you are a sponsor.
Every person on staff that I have talked to has given me a different story or take to my questions. So I am asking more in public to get the real scoop.
I have been told that this is a private facility for members only, but then also told that their will be some public days. What is it? It does not mention either in the membership packet. If it is private, why is there not anything to protect members from losing their investment and becoming public time?
I understood that you had to get 50 founding members by June 1, 2009. I have read up, after your Barrett-Jackson event, you claimed to have just over 10 remaining. It doesn't make sense to me how you got so many members quickly then it died off all of a sudden. My understanding was that if you got 50 founding members by June 1, you had a commitment through a bank to finance part of the club, if you have not achieved this, is the bank reliquishing financing as times has changed? Also, heard a rumor that the club was going to be fully funded by a Saudi Bank or Businessman, it any of this true? My friend that is a member has not been notified that all 50 have been sold, so I am guessing not all 50 are sold? I asked my friend, but he hasn't heard much in response since he put his deposit down.
I have also asked, when you purchase a founding membership, and you select the land option, when do you receive the title. My answers so far have been that once the master plan has been completed or after the first track is built. If this is the case, what guarantee do I have that I will get the 35 acres as the club has the possiblity of struggling through these financial times. Most real estate transactions I have done, when I pay my balance I get a title.
Also, doing some research in Elbert County (http://www.elbertcounty-co.gov/uploa...try%20Club.doc) sounds like only 20 buildings can be built. How many home sites are allowed?
What club house is being built? The better part of the time that I have seen information, the made focus was the space shuttle looking clubhouse, is that no longer in the plans?
I understand this is a "fluid" project as I have been told, but for the price of a membership, I feel certain questions are in order to protect myself. But it seems like every time I view your website, it has changed. And thats on a week to week basis, even when the site was The Ring of the Rockies.
Also looking up in the county. It still looks like the property is owned by Sylvester not by The Motor Sport Country Club or principles. And nothing under contract by public records. What protects me so that the owners of The Motor Sport Country Club don't walk away with my money?
Since the property looks like it isn't owned by MSCC, when would construction begin? I have heard it was to start late spring, summer, then June 1, when is it projected now?
Why was this particular spot of land chosen? Most of the land on the plains east of Denver are flat, including Agate.
I also heard that Genoa Motorsports Park (Genoa Motorsports Park - Colorado Race Track) has recently gained more members and is to, close to breaking ground. Is the 50 member and back up list marketing ploys against each other?
The events I have seen The Motor Sport Country Club put together have been impressive, but is that where all the money is being spent? I have thought that once you marketed out of state, that it made the whole concept stronger, but the puzzle seems to have many missing or hidden pieces.
Also, in one email it said that all permits except for the runway have been obtained. With Elbert County's trouble with runways and private airstrips, is the plan to still to include this?
Wehn I talked to the friend that is a member, he mentioned that all he submitted was his deposit and a registration form, that the other papers weren't signed by both sides. Why? Makes me more leary.
Thank you in advance for your time in addressing my questions.

I think all these are def very legit questions, but as I am sure you know and very rightfully so a little deeper than an average Joe like me would ask. I have looked in to MSCC personally and have been very impressed and very receptive by what they are trying to do. I am sure there is an answer for all your questions. We have Mike and Claus that can either answer your questions publicly or if they choose contact you directly and we would appreciate it if you can let us know either way if you were satisfied with their answers or if you need to know more.

Totally excellent due diligence. These questions being answered in the public can't do anything but help.
A bunch of gas powered italian, german, japanese, and american things with four wheels. On order is a bunch of the same, and previously I had a bunch of the same. Oh and I fly, tool around on boats, and have been known to ride motorcycles.

Hello,
This is Mike Magree, I would be happy to answer your questions about our project or to take you for a tour of the property.
I would also like to know who your friend is that a member as we sent out packages to all of our members June 1st and if he didn't receive it I would like to know if we have the wrong address.
First of all, Mike Bergren is no longer associated with our company, he works for Club Auto Colorado, where we office out of. Please let me know if he is representing himself as an employee of our resort.
The track is for MEMBERS only!! No club days, no public days! Only members or guests of members with guest passes will be allowed on track. This is covered in the membership agreement. This is one of the great features that separate the Motor Sport Country Club from the other membership tracks. This gives our members the privacy and security that they desire.
We do not have 50 Founding members signed up at this point. We didn't sign up a bunch of members quickly then taper off, we have been signing up members on this project for over 2 years. We were very close to having the 50 members signed up but with the economy the way it is some of the founders have backed out due to their personal financial pictures. We had originally set a deadline of June 1st to have our 50 members, unlike many projects out there with no predetermined dates. Our plans were to refund the members their money back, since we didn’t meet that goal but fortunately most of our members have the same dream that we do and are willing to set a new cut off date.
Founding members put $5000 down payment into an escrow account to reserve a spot as a Founding member. If they feel they can't fulfill their obligation to pay the balance of their membership they can request their deposit back from the escrow account at any time prior to fulfilling the 50 members.
Deed to the Founding member’s property will be issued once the master plan is finished. This is due to some members not taking the property option and members wanting property in different areas (some wanting to be trackside while others prefer to be further away from the action). Once members have the property they want picked out and everyone is happy the master plan can be finished and deeds issued.
We are building the new clubhouse designed by Tilke to better serve the members as it provides access to all four tracks with a center courtyard more conducive to social activities. We can build the “spaceship” Alan Grant designed building in the future over one or two of the tracks if the members desire and it makes economic sense.
Although the website changes quite a bit, the actual message and text do not. We are just adding more pictures, renderings and now video to help portray our vision.
The property is owned by Sylvester with whom we have a contract and first right of refusal on the property. I can provide this document for you if you desire. Again all of the member’s money goes into an escrow account that we can not access. This is something we had in place from the beginning to keep our members money safe, not done as an afterthought like some other projects. We will purchase the property when we have all of the Founding members.
We would like to see construction start late summer but we do need to fulfill our commitment of getting 50 members for that to happen. We plan on racing early next summer on the race circuit.
I would love to have you come see the property. It is not flat!! In fact we have some huge canyons that will be a part of our off-road/rally area. You can see on our website the elevation changes or download the track plans at, http://www.motorsportcc.com/download...-small-new.pdf
This shows all the elevation changes, lap times, average speed, braking points and apexes for a Porsche GT1 Cup car. Tilke, our design firm that has designed most of the recent Formula 1 tracks around the world spent many hours at the property taking extreme care to incorporate the natural terrain in to the over 9 miles of road course. But to really appreciate it you need to see it first hand, it is amazing, definitely not what you would expect to see in Eastern Colorado.
All of our permits are in place except for the landing strip as you have mentioned. We have no reason to believe that this will be any problem as Elbert County has been very helpful with our project. I personally live near a new fly-in community in Elbert County. There are 8 fly-in communities in Elbert County.
If your friend doesn't have signed copies of his paperwork I would like to get that resolved immediately.
We spent over a year searching for property both in and out of Colorado. We picked this 2600 acres (4 square miles) of property due to many factors such as climate (300 days of sunshine per year), friendliness of the local government to the project (permits obtained), availability of water (plenty), distance from the highway ( gives it more of a resort feel), views (mountains, canyons and bluffs), proximity to Denver (less than a hour away, yet far enough away to stay away from immediate development) and most importantly elevation changes (ideal for track layout and drainage).
Foremost we are a Country Club; we plan on having a resort environment that is conducive to networking and social activities. Having the only 9 mile Formula 1 spec track in the US is a bonus! Let alone World class dining and lodging, Spa, pool, fitness center, cigar bar, wine tasting room and full Equestrian facility. Our members will enjoy a concierge service that will serve even the most discriminating tastes.
We attend some of the best car events in the US and will expand to International events next year. We encourage and arrange for our members to join us at events. This year we went to Barrett-Jackson and the Russo and Steele Auctions in Scottsdale, were guests of Motor Sport Country Club member and former NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace at the Daytona Speed Week and Daytona 500, had a trackside suite at the Long Beach Grand Prix, participated in the Gumball 3000 and Gold Rush rallies and will be attending the 54th Porsche Parade in Keystone, CO.
We are able to get our members special privileges (court side seats, VIP tables) at many other sporting and social events; we also attend many charity functions with our members such as the Joe Sakic Celebrity Golf Tournament, the Morgan Adams and United Cerebral Palsy Concours and many others.
If this sounds like something you would like to be involved in let me know and definitely let me know if you have any other questions.

Wanted to respond earlier but was out helping a member getting his Porsche ready for the Porsche Parade. Awesome 356 4-cam Carrera. Claus was up in Aspen with a couple of members at Woody Creek Raceway testing out a Lotus... and someone else's GT!!!

i have talked with mike about the mcc and there plans and visions. they are on top of there game and our class act guys. just like anything else in this economy you need a guarantee. a bank isn't just going to throw out a couple millions dollars just for the hell of it. they are building in my opinion something that no one else has been able to do. this country club is going to be off the hook. but like anything it needs money and a guarantee that it will get off the ground and the interest is there. its not a track where joe blow can drive up and get on the track. i can say that mike is a stand up guy and he represents a vision that most of us just dream about. i know they want this open as bad as all of us do! keep up the good work mike!!!!!!
