Thread: MMR at Laguna Seca 12/13-12/14 2008

This past weekend at Laguna Seca was another good one for Michael!
On the podium twice ....2nd and 3rd place!

1st race on Sunday.... Starting in 4th after a disappointing qualifying round (although he was pole in practice), Michael finally broke through traffic with five laps to go and made up 60 car lengths to finish a second behind 1st place!

2nd race... Michael grabs 1st place on the 1st lap. Then it starts raining and he looses a bit of control and falls back to 5th. With 7 laps to go, Michael brakes into turn 11 and the car in front cuts in front of Michael. Micheal has no place to go and barely taps car 4! So, Michael gets black flagged and has to come into the pits for a penalty and to check his car... I'm thinking the race is over for him. He finally got back on the track after the pit crew struggled for 45 MORE seconds to put his nose clip back on the car. Michael comes flying out of the pits to try to catch up... now over a lap behind. Soon after he was racing again, there was a big spin out in turn two and the pace car comes out for a restart. After the restart with four laps to go, Michael went from 17th to 3rd place in THREE LAPS!!!

Needless to say... it was exciting!
