    "Are You Lost?"

One of the hardest things for a man to admit is when he is lost. We will drive in circles, ignore directions and even ignore our navigation systems with desire to find out where we are going on our own. Not until we have exhausted our options will we finally admit we are lost. Are you looking for a solution to your problems? Are you going down the wrong road and looking to get back on track?

There is one true reference guide that will give you the right directions. The bible is your spiritual Map quest. Newspapers, radio or television can not accurately give you the best route to take when you encounter em passes and jams in life. The bible discusses every scenario we can come across. It is the supreme navigation guide for our lives. When you spend time in the Word you will soon be directed back on course.

II Corinthians 4:3-4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose mind the god of his age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should shine on them.

    "Will You Still Praise Him?"

A friend of mine was almost killed in an accident. He fell from 20-30 feet in the air at his work site. Due to his fall he sustained several serious injuries. In the midst of his pain he expressed his thankfulness to God for being alive another day. Are you angry with God for some misfortune in your life? Do you question why God has allowed certain things to happen to you or your loved ones?

Many of us are fighting to stay above water. However, it is important to keep everything in perspective. God has blessed many of us exceedingly and abundantly. Sometimes it takes seeing or hearing someones testimony to realize how blessed we truly are. Today take account of your blessings. Praise God for what He has done.

You may not have gotten the promotion you thought you deserved... Praise God! You may be going through a rough patch in your marriage... Praise God! You may be down to your last two dollars.... Praise God! Your ability to praise God in the midst of a storm will reflect your faith and help you to overcome any circumstance!

Psalm 43:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

    "Will You Answer The Call?"

When I worked in the hospitality field, I spent many years in the area of telecommunications. This area required me to be on call pretty much 24 hours. So not only did I work my required hours, but I had to be available in case of emergency. The time spent in that area of expertise has pushed me to not be a phone person to this day. Often times, I reluctantly answer phone calls or will just let the phone call go to voice mail. This practice has made miss some very important calls. Is God calling you do something that you have been ignoring? Will you answer God's call on your life?

Today God is waiting for you to answer His call. He is calling you to do something that hasn't been done before. Within your calling is joy, restoration and fulfillment. Allow your calling or purpose to set you free. Trust that God's calling will confirm the purpose He has for your life. The phone is ringing will you answer His call today?

II Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began

    "Will He Know You?"

Over the past couple of years, I've joined a couple of networking websites that has allowed me to reconnect with classmates from high school and college. I have to admit, my memory has faded a bit. People from the websites are requesting to be my "friend" who I have difficulty placing. I sit at my computer dumbfounded pondering, "Who are you?" or How do I exactly know you?".

I am usually good with names and faces. However, I am challenged when remembering some people from my past. If a lot of time has passed since the last time I spoke/saw them they were more of an acquaintance than a friend. God may feel the same way about us. We chat with Him only when we think it's necessary. Instead, we should seek him diligently! God desires to be your friend. All friendships should be built on communication and love. Be a friend of God! When you decide to be God's true friend you won't have to worry if He remembers you.

Luke 13:23-27 Then one said to Him, "Lord , are there few who are saved?" And He said to them, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,' then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets. But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'

"How Did You Get That Scar?"

In 1958 Martin Luther King Jr was stabbed in the chest with a letter opener by Izola Ware Curry at his book signing in Harlem, New York. The physician who treated him said that if he would have coughed or sneezed he would have lost his life. After emergency surgery, Dr. King had a scar left on his chest that resembled a cross. Do you have any permanent scars? Have you been marked with God's grace and mercy?

Like Dr. King, God has allowed our lives to be marked by our experiences. Some of our trials are more severe than others. Nonetheless they aren't meant to kill us, but to make us stronger. Don't let life defeat you. Use the marks and scars left behind to remind you of God's power and presence in your life. When you look pass the scars you will see that God has marked you for greatness.

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

    "Are You Family?"

One Sunday, my family and I arrived late to church and the parking lot was all most full. We drove around the jam packed lot in hot pursuit of a space. We finally found one but as we pulled into it a gentlemen from the church's security team approached our vehicle. He asked, "Are you family?". My wife and I soon realized the space was in a reserved area for the pastor's family members. For a few seconds we contemplated if we were going to tell him that we were "friends" of the family. However, we drove off to look for another spot. Does God consider you family? Do you have a reserved spot in heaven?

Family members have rights and liberties others do not possess. In some cases your family can say or do things other people are not able to get away with. Even your closest friends may not have the same privileges your family has. The same can be said about the Kingdom of God. When you are a part of God's family you receive benefits and authority others can't claim. Members of God's family have reservations and keys to His kingdom. Choose to join God's family. Being a part of His family secures your eternal parking spot in Heaven.

John 14:2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

"Are You Ready To Hand It Over?"

Some years ago I made a decision that wasn't the best for me. Close friends and family instantly realized I was heading in the wrong direction. Everyone seemed disappointed by my choice. However, in due time God corrected my misstep and changed the situation. Are you trying to fix something you have no control over? Are you ready to hand it over to God?

Some things can only be handled by God and requires faith that He is in control. In difficult times it can feel paralyzing to not take action when you see someone making the wrong decision. Pray for Him to step in and take over the situation. Allow God to bring wisdom and needed insight. God's thoughts are greater than our own. His ways are flawless. Submit to His control. When we let go and let God, He will take care of the situation.

I Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

    "How Do You Define Success?"

In the world success is graded in many different ways. The popular idea of success is driven by how much money you make, the size and neighborhood of your home or the type of car you drive. Unfortunately, many of us judge ourselves and others by these worldly possessions. However, there is one person who doesn't grade success by superficial standards. How do you define success?

God grades success by how we adhere to His voice and His word. God's word is so important to Him that He desires us to take time to study it day and night. The goal of studying His word is for it to reside in our hearts at all times. When we remember His promises we are able to replace our fear with faith. Choose to spend time in the Word of God today. When we observe and be obedient to His Word we will position ourselves to be successful and prosperous in God's eyes.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
