Default **BALLIN OUTTA CONTROL | Gold and Diamond Business Card Holder**

I made this piece for a friend of mine that has some eclectic taste, for him the crazier the better. He likes to collect cars from the 80's & 90's (specifically widebodys) along with antiques and jewelry. He has a crazy stable of cars:

1993 Aston Martin Virage Volante Widebody 1 of 13 produced for the USA
Mercedes 560 SEC Aftermarket AMG 6.0L
    Mercedes 560 SEC Koenig Widebody
    Mercedes 500 SEC Gemballa
Mercedes 560 SEC AMG Factory Widebody 6.0L
    Mercedes Gullwing
    Mercedes RennTech CLK 60 Supercharged
    Porsche 928 GTS
    Porsche 928 Strosek Widebody
BMW M1 Twin Turbo Pro Car Widebody
    Rolls Royce Silver Cloud
the list goes on, and is always changing.

He contacted me back in 2009 and told me he had purchased an antique 14k gold makeup case that had his initials engraved on it. He wanted to convert it into a case that he could use to carry a custom sized business card he was getting made. It was in OK condition but the mirror needed to be removed and the inside cleaned up and polished. He wanted me to take his family crest and convert it into a shield that would go onto the case. It was by far one of my most challenging projects. The crest alone is over an ounce of gold and has 96 G VS2 diamonds totaling 3.85 carats. It turned out amazing and I was able to capture a lot of the detail from the patch that he gave me which is shown below. This is by far one of the craziest requests I have received yet, but a neat project. It shows just how personal "jewelry" is and can be with the proper guidance and imagination. Gaudy and over the top for sure, but what a baller ass conversation piece when you say "Hey, lets exchange business cards"

Definitely agree that it is a bit gaudy, but looks like you did a great job! Random questions: any pics of the the client's business cards? inside pics? What was his reation when you handed over the finished product?
