Popping the question... time for the ring
There have already been a few posts on this subject, but as every situation is unique I figured some feedback might be nice.
Here is what I know:
1. She wants a princess cut diamond
2. She wants it to be a simple design
3. Has to be at least 2.5 carat
It seems that there are just about a million jewelers out there and I can honestly say I have no working knowledge to tell the difference between them. Do any of you know a good jeweler in CA? I have a pretty basic idea of what she wants and a budget range picked out ... any suggestions?2009 GTR UnOfficial L4P GTR (850 HP track prepped... GOLD RUSH CAR!!!)

I don't know what circle your girl hangs out in, but anything over 1.5 can really get in the way during every day activities. I guess if she hangs out in a group where everyone has huge diamonds, I could understand- but otherwise, I don't know if she'd want to deal with it. Then you'd be forced in to buying a smaller "everday" diamond ring too! lol
Always go for the best color diamond you can find, that, in my opinion makes the biggest difference. Good luck though- it can be quite a task to pick one out. Glad that's over for me-

Congrats. I do have a good friend who is a jeweler. He has a few locations in the East Bay. PM me if you want me to make the introduction for you. I have all of my wife's bling custom made by him. He does excellent work.

He's on here but not an advertiser. Look him up. I got my girl a little over a 2.0 and its looks insanely huge. Couldnt be more happier with the end result, price and reaction from her lol
She gets compliments LITERALLY every day :-DCourage is not the abscense of fear it is the conquest of it........

Not to mention a rock that size will cost too much for what it is i.m.o.
Meaning...... that there's much more important things to think of other than an oversized rock on a girls hand. i.e. a place to live, starting a family in the future, kids college funds, etc.. etc.
I happen to know a girl that is a small girl, with small hands. She has a 2 carat rock that looks stupid on her small hand and skinny ass finger.
Again, at the end of the day it's you and your girls decision, but if it's about "keepin up with the Jonses", F that!EARNED, AND NOT GIVEN....

Only reason I mentioned carat is that a few jewelers I looked at did not carry anything larger than 2 carat. She isnt demanding any size diamond, the size is something I picked out for myself. I did get her opinion on settings, but the rest is upto me.
