Do a walk around. The "stores" arent what you want. You want the big mall looking places... the ones with 50 jewelers ready to make anything at any price.
Let me know if you need a companion on your journey and ill see what I can do.

Just make sure you know your diamonds, or you will might as well bring the KY for the raping. If not, make sure you goes with someone who knows diamonds VERY well. 47th street can be a godsend, or your worst nightmare.

I bought all of my diamonds (engagement ring, wedding rings, wife's right hand ring) from David S Diamonds in the diamond district mentioned. David S. Diamonds is his website. I deal with David S personally, from experience since then, I've realized I much prefer that over his employees. David is very knowledgeable and took the time to give me a crash course on diamonds so that I have the knowledge to either buy from him or another dealer. He definitely stands behind his product and they're amazing diamonds that I've purchased from him at very reasonable prices. He cuts his own diamonds, does not buy cut diamonds.
Out of the 4 friends of mine that I've referred to him since then, 3 had decided to to go with him as well after shopping around. The other one didn't only because he inherited a diamond to use instead.
