Hotel to stay at in Chicago??
Going to Chicago this weekend (7/1-7/5) and wanted to get some recommendations on hotels to stay at. I've seen threads about hotels in Chicago, but some of them are from a while ago.
Planning on going to Bentley Gold Coast, but wanted to take a few days and enjoy Chicago while we are there.

I've always loved the Renaissance on State & Wacker. Gorgeous hotel in a decent location.

W, Hard Rock, Swissotel all get my thumbs up. Are you watching the fireworks at Navy Pier? The W has great views so does the Swissotel.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.

Just to provide an alternate...
I would suggest the ParkHyatt on Michigan. It's farther down Michigan Ave, not near the others mentioned. It's not the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons, but it is quite nice. The location can't be beat. You can walk to Bentley gold Coast (are they still there?), and the Ralph Lauren restaurant is right out the front door. Great for lunch. They're all nice, just prefer this location.

We ended up booking at TheWit. A friend of mine has stayed there and says that he loved it.
As far as the fireworks go, I'd love some suggestions as far as where to go. My girl and I are going to meet up with some friends of mine there so I'm sure they will have an idea of where to go for that, as well as other cool places/restaurants to check out.
But I'd love to here from people on here as well!!

I hear the best fire works will be at great lakes naval base this year
also, palatine has a great show, as well as arlington horse track too.
there is also the taste of chicago going on, we have supercar saturdays on july 2nd, and tons of fests too.JEEP: The dirtiest of the four-letter words
