Default Best site to book hotels? Anyone have experience with Hotwire.com?

    Hi guys,

Of the plethora of travel sites, which do you recommend for booking hotels exclusively?

Also, does anyone have experience with Hotwire.com which allows you to specify a location and star rating, but doesn't tell you the actual hotel name until after you book? They look like they have some solid deals, but I'm apprehensive.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

jeremy - depending on the area, it's often pretty easy to figure out which hotel Hotwire will hook you up with. all of the big sites rate the hotels comparably, and Hotwire gives you the full amenity list - from here, just compare hotels in that area w/ the provided amenities and you can generally narrow it down to a few places.

i've used it with pretty good success. the only time that sucks is when you wait to the last minute, not realizing something big is happening in the city; and then you're f***** paying full price.

priceline/hotwire are good if you use biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com so you know what to bid. hotels.com has 8percent cash back through fatwallet.com orbit.com just had a 20percent off coupon ... lots of deals out there if you look

I like to use Splendia.com. They have a lot of interesting hotels, other than the regular ones.
