My Theater Remote
Here is the Crestron remote (TPMC-8X) that I picked up for the theater I'm building in my basement.

I'm still programming it, but its capabilities are amazing. I can control my whole theater, lighting, HVAC, surf the internet, view my security cameras, call someone using VOIP.
It even has a finger print reader built in. I can scan my thumb and have it go to my own page with my favorite options. I can do the same for my wife, kids, and even guests.
I can finally have my wife watch what she wants without me having to push all the buttons to set everything up. With one swipe of her finger, I can have the lights dim, the AC go to her favorite temperature, the projector come on and automatically display her favorite channel (a little warmer than I like), the receiver change to her favorite volume (a little quieter than I like), and the remote's screen flip to a list of her favorite channels and movies (stored on an HTPC).

I'm pretty sure that it's smarter than I am

I'm building it myself, so it isn't the fastest project, but I'm having a fun time doing it. I have finished the framing and have started on the electrical rough-in. Here is the floor plan:

I have most of the gear purchased. The only large piece I still need is the projector.

looks like it's going to be awesome. When you're done I could use one of those in my house.

Ok- you motivated me. I went home for lunch and took a few pictures.
Here's the front

and the back

Here's the rack for my equipment (including the whole-house a/v system)

Great looking system design! The Triad Integra combo sounds very nice. Are you using Crestron Lighting and whole house distributed AV? Are you going to use a motorized black out shade for the windows? What projectors are you thinking about? Have you looked at the Marantz?
Nice job, looks like it will be a fun room!
Cheers,

Thanks.
I'm using Crestron Lighting in the basement, including the theater, but I didn't install it in the rest of the house. That will probably change as time goes on.
I did use it for the control of the whole house AV, but I'm using an Extron 3200 video switch and Vaux Lattice 1600A for the audio switch. I'm using Audio Access PX-612 for the amps.
As far as the windows go, motorized window coverings work well for the light, but I decided against them because they don't do much for sound. I've spent a lot of time working on the sound isolation for the theater. I've built staggered-stud walls, double layers of 5/8" sheet rock with Green Glue in the middle.
So, instead of window coverings, I'm making window blocks with plywood backers, sound isolation foam for the insert, covering the plywood with fabric that matches the walls, and using a hand ring for taking them in and out.

Very nice! Looks like your (re)doing the whole basement? I'm sure there is a wine cellar back there somewhere too!!!
