This is probably really late, but I imagine you would have HD cable which sends its signal to the TV via HDMI, so get a wireless HDMI transmitter and just put the cable box in a cabinet in a close by room and use a 2.4 GHz remote to control it.

I plan on getting the VIZIO XWH200 for the bedroom soon. sweet simple setup.
