    Default Need some help/info!

    Hey guys,

so we have a basement project at home that involves a small theater set up. Currently we have 600 series B&W speakers that we want to upgrade to the B&W 802D's. Anyone know what gauge wire we should use for this?

Also, we are planning on have a projector and screen so what are your recommendations for projectors in a 3-5k range? i was looking at Sony as the front runner so far.

    thanks!

I believe the 802D's have a speaker Impedance of 8 ohms if I'm not mistaken. What are the length of your speaker cable runs? If they're no longer that 60 ft then 12 AWG speaker wire will work fine.

With regards to projectors check out the JVC DLA-RS10U, JVC DLA-RS15U, and the Epson Pro Cinema 9500UB. Those are great choices within your price range. Sony also make great projectors however they are typically not as bright as others (such as the JVC and Epson) and they have a limited throw distance which makes the overall placement / setup critical.

They are no longer than 60 ft so i shall go with 12 AWG speaker wire.

The JVC's have a lamp life rating of up to 3000 hours (normal lamp mode). The Epson 9500UB has a rating of up to 4000 hours.
